Raipur, June 11, 2026: The Chhattisgarh Government has extended the tenure of State Election Commissioner Ajay Singh, a retired IAS officer of the 1983 batch, in view of upcoming elections in the state.
According to an order issued by the General Administration Department (GAD) on June 11, 2026, the extension has been granted under the powers conferred by Article 243-K(2) of the Constitution of India and the provisions of the Chhattisgarh State Election Commissioner (Conditions of Service) Rules, 2002.
